A set of 29 cards with colourful and eye-catching designs that encourage teens and young adults to consider what is important in maintaining healthy and supportive romantic relationships. Issues including jealousy, controlling behaviour, pressure to do things one does not feel comfortable with, sharing information on social media, neglect, disingenuous  behaviour, lying and emotional abuse are introduced in a gentle and educational way, encouraging careful contemplation and education.

"They love me, they love me not" is a card set designed for parents and people who work with young people who may be contemplating romantic relationships. The cards are designed to help people assess and/or consider the sort of relationship they believe will meet their emotional and physical needs, promoting healthy bonds and encouraging wise choices. In addition, the cards can be used by workers and parents alike to help educate young people on the sorts of values and qualities in romantic bonds that are likely to promote, respect, reciprocity, warmth, caring and support.

Our first romantic relationships can often influence future relationships and important life choices, shaping our identities and sense of self. Whether you are a concerned parent, mindful teacher, counsellor or mental health worker, this card set will provide you with the tools to engage in the sometimes tough yet important conversations about first time love, sex, sharing information on social media and what is and isn't ok in a healthy, supportive relationship.

Instructions outline various methods of use for these innovative cards including (30 A5 Cue Cards):

  • Selecting values or qualities in a romantic relationship that "matter to you."
  • Explore particular values in a romantic relationship, why they might or might not be important.
  • Identify personal needs that are important to meet in order to feel safe and comforted in a romantic relationship.
  • View common behaviours and traits often displayed in young relationships today and contemplate possible solutions and/or internal resources to cope with relationship dilemmas.
  • Investigate whether behaviours displayed in romantic relationships are in line with ones values, guiding important choices about whom we choose as a potential romantic partner.
  • Identify 'Red Flags'.
